Celebrate with us at Tahune Adventures

The Bluestone Shelter isn’t the oldest construction built on our site – that honour would go to Constable Francis McPartlan’s cottage, now just a scatter of rocks near the confluence of the Huon and Picton Rivers.

But although his house has gone, he is still with us – McPartlan’s statue, carved in pine, guards the entrance to the Bluestone Shelter.

Built in solid chunks of local dolerite, this versatile building began life as a stone hut by the river, where bushwalkers could get out of the rain.

Today, the flexible spaces within the Bluestone Shelter offer catering and meeting facilities for a variety of gatherings and events.

The largest space can comfortably seat 40 people and we can arrange split sittings to suit larger groups. Smaller spaces in the Bluestone Shelter are ideal for boardroom-size meetings. We offer a range of catering options, from gourmet BBQ to sausage sizzles.

The Bluestone Shelter at Tahune Adventures Tasmania is an innovative choice for your next function, whether you’re thinking of school excursions, club gatherings, private celebrations or work-related events, all tailored to meet your own particular needs.
