TAHUNE AIRWALK

Experience our spectacular Airwalk
The famous Tahune AirWalk is an elevated walkway 30 metres above the forest floor, with the final cantilever section sitting at a height of 50 metres above the Huon River, with spectacular views to the confluence of the Huon and Picton and beyond to the peaks of the World Heritage Area.
To reach the start of the AirWalk you’ll gradually ascend 106 steps, with places to sit and rest. We also offer access for those with mobility issues – please enquire at the Tahune Adventures ticket office.
Basic fitness is required to complete the 619 metre-length of the AirWalk. The full return journey takes about 45 minutes – more if you stop for photographs, spot birdlife, or to enjoy the clean, fresh scents of the forest.

HUON PINE WALK

Enjoy a short, easy and tranquil stroll along the riverbank to discover the world’s most accessible stand of rare and beautiful Huon pines.
The Huon Pine Walk has a brand new path and boardwalk, showcasing the mossy forest floors to the giant treetops. With hidden gems along the way, the walk is great fun for children and adults alike. There are hidden animal statues around the track; if your children can spot them all (and even if they can’t) return to the visitor centre where we have a badge-making machine for the little ones to colour-in their favourite animal and create a badge from their artwork.
Prams or pushers and walking frames can be used on the Huon Pine walk. The boardwalk is also suitable for wheelchairs.
Allow 20 minutes to complete the Huon Pine walk.

SWINGING BRIDGES TRACK

Feel the power of nature as the mighty Huon and Picton Rivers rush beneath your feet, on two swinging bridges suspended from the riverbanks. Allow 1 hour to complete the Swinging Bridges loop.
The Huon Bridge extends over 100 metres over the Huon River. Once you’ve crossed the first bridge, take a two-minute walk to where the rivers meet and look down the river for a view of the AirWalk’s cantilever.
The Picton Swing Bridge extends 62 metres across the Picton River below and will take you back to solid ground to continue your adventure on the Tahune Reserve. Then view the ruins of the house occupied by Police Constable Francis McPartlan, a former Irish convict whose duty it was to walk the trail to the remote Arthur Range to check timber licenses.
