FAQ

Do I need to book the Airwalk?
It isn’t necessary to book the walks ahead of your trip. You can simply arrive on site and purchase your entry from one of our friendly staff. However, you are more than welcome to purchase online for smoother access. Make sure you present your booking to staff on arrival and they can check you in.
We are open every day from 10am until 4pm, with last ticket sales at 3.55pm. We are closed Christmas Day and during hazardous weather conditions.
We are located in Southern Tasmania in the Huon Valley. It is a 1.5hr drive south of Hobart on the Huon Hwy (A6). Once you reach Geeveston, turn right onto Arve Rd. Take a left at the big sign and continue to follow the signs for half and hour to Tahune Adventures. TIP: The road is sealed the whole way until the carpark. Avoid using GPS as you may get directed onto unsigned gravel roads.
As long as children are over 25kgs they can safely fit into the child harness and hold the safety bar. There are certain times when the weight restriction is increased due to wind. There is no option to do tandem rides.
No. Drones are not permitted on the Tahune Adventures site. Please keep your fellow guests and native animals in mind and leave your drone at home or in your car.
If you see any native animals during your visit consider yourself very lucky. Most land animals and birds are afraid of humans and tend to keep their distance. If you do manage to spot one, please be considerate and leave it ample space to feel safe in its natural habitat.
Some animals spotted while at Tahune Forest Reserve have been Eastern Quoll, Wombat, Echidna, Pademelon, Wedge-Tailed Eagle, and other birdlife. The most common animal and bird you are guaranteed to see is the Currawong… watch your food!
No. Tahune Adventures is a privately owned business and not a part of the nearby Hartz National Park.
Our Eagle Hang Glider is an on-demand experience, meaning we don’t take pre-bookings or use time slots. Tickets can be bought at the Visitor Centre on the day you visit. The Eagle Hang Glider opening hours are 10.30am-2.30pm. Please note that sales do stop for the glider during hazardous winds and weather conditions for safety, and when there’s long queues for crowd control.

The 2019 fires gave a devastating hit to the area surrounding Tahune. The fire’s path was quite random, leaving many spots untouched; we were lucky to avoid total damage. It is so fascinating to see the burnt area return foliage; the regrowth is something to behold. There are also vast areas at Tahune where you wouldn’t even know a fire has been through. You really have to see for yourself to see how wondrous it truly is. Read the story here.

We do have a special offer for Tasmanian residents called the Adventure Pass, which gives you 12 months worth of free visits. Simply pay for a daily entry (regular pricing) and sign up to be able to return for free.
